Working in a group of three we were given the task to come up with an idea for a site specific instillation to be placed within the city. After numerous hours researching on the internet we stumbled upon some work that the "Graffiti Research Lab" had been doing. By using a high power laser, projector, camera and PC it was possible to create a take anywhere graffiti wall that could be projected onto any flat sided object. We gathered all the necessary equipment and began to put our plan to work. After initial positive looking tests inside university we are hoping to take this project on ourselves and make larger scale versions out in the city.
The brief was to create a TV station ident of 30 seconds and no other limitations. Taking inspiration from TV stations in the past I decided that a big shiny number was in order to really get into peoples heads. Then using a small character i animated him to fly through and around the giant number. The overall animation is simple but effective.
The brief for this piece of work was to create a virtual environment. I decided to use my workplace at the airport to create a stereoscopic walk through which, when viewed through specialized equipment creates the illusion of 3D.Using floor plans and reference photographs I created the scene in 3Ds Max and textured it with the help of Photoshop Cs2. The walk through uses two cameras at 6cm apart to recreate the vision of a person. This is then processed using the stereoscopic software and can then be viewed with special glasses.
